A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED (poem)

A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

We have become unaware
Of the presence of multitudes
Of voices that speak divergent languages-

-Of spectators whose opinions we don’t need.

We have become odd-
For what they seek
Is not what we give

And what they see
Is not who we are.

We are like a road
Less travelled,
Free of footprints
But not of essence

  1. If we have become unaware of their presence, can we still say that we have become odd? Do they even exist in our world for our unusualnness to be noticed? Nice piece though. I like the marriage of simple word a and deep metaphor, and the choice of enjambments that in a way reinforced meaning connections.
