Short Letter to a Son

Dear Son, in this life, this small you must be smart. It is essential. You may be intelligent and get your degree right, but I won't speak less of smartness. No school would offer you a pinch of that.
You must be able to compete with anyone, whether they attended Harvard and eat a million naira worth of meal for breakfast or they are your contemporaries. You must be smart and let the sweat from constant trekking inspire you. You must not look or speak like your situation. You should engage in healthy debates with anyone, confidently and not let the scent of their expensive cologne push your courage aside.
This, son, you must bear in mind, whether I stay with your mother or not, that God is in you and your size has nothing to do with greatness.

Thank you,

Your father,
Bura-Bari Nwilo.
